Eye Exams

Why Should You Get Your Eyes Tested Annually?

Getting your eyes checked regularly isn’t just testing if your prescription has changed. We also examine the overall health of your eyes. Taking this approach can result in preventative measures against eye diseases like retinal detachment, cataracts, early onset glaucoma, and more.

Adult Exams

Always have an up-to-date prescription to ensure clear vision

Getting regular eye exams allows for up to date prescriptions to ensure clarity of your vision. As well, allows the doctors to assess the overall health of your eye, and if necessary, provide you with recommendations or products we sell in store to care for your eyes like, vitamins, specialized drops, warm compresses, or eye disease management.

Children’s Exams

Learning problems can be a sign of underlying visual problems

Poor performance in school or sports is often indicative of an underlying visual problem. Studies estimate 1 in 10 children have a vision problem severe enough to detriment their learning, and 50% of school vision screenings can miss these problems. Many parents and caregivers would be surprised to know that a child’s first eye examination is recommended between 6 and 12 months of age. After this initial exam during infancy, yearly exams should begin around age 3, or before children enter the classroom setting.

Specialty Exams

If you have any health-related problems that affect your eyesight, we are here to help

Certain medications, diabetes, hypertension, and family history for certain eye conditions are all things that can affect the overall health of your eyes. It’s best practice to be monitored closely by our Doctors of Optometry to ensure these problems don’t have an irreversible visual impact.

Emergencies

Seeing flashes and/or floaters can indicate serious eye issues

If you are experiencing any sudden changes in your vision, a red or painful eye, our doctors will make every effort possible to see you on the same day. We are also able to deal with foreign body removals and blunt trauma. In many cases, our office provides faster service than a walk-in clinic or emergency room.
